EU offers visa liberalization for Ukraine

The European Commission offers to introduce visa free regime for Ukrainian citizens. According to TASS, such document was published on European Commission website. EU Commission introduces the visa free regime for short-term travels to the EU for Ukrainian citizens who have biometric passports.
It is also reported, visa liberalization dialogue between Ukraine and the EU was launched on 29 October 2008.
On 22 November 2010, the European Commission presented the Action Plan on Visa Liberalization at Ukraine-EU Summit. The Ukrainian side fulfilled all conditions of the action plan.
EU Commissionner, Dimitris Avramopoulos, expressed a hope that Ukrainian people would be able to travel to European countries without any visa restrictions soon. “I hope it will be done in the near future” – he said at the briefing in Brussels. He also added that the European Commission is preparing a legislative proposal to include Ukraine in the list of countries with visa-free travels to Europe.
