I like to travel a great deal and when I get married again, I intend to travel frequently with my new wife. I am also an avid reader and read virtually everything and anything within my reach. I've always loved horses and horseback riding, rollerblading and swimming, and I love to fish, especially in Canada during the summer and our State of Florida in the winter. I really enjoy watching good movies of most any type and genre, some TV and my favorite football team. I do like to lead a very active life, but I am also a somewhat hopeless romantic and love romantic candlelit dinners for two, giving to loved ones, quiet evening walks (holding hands), visiting museums, art exhibits, concerts and many other, activities of enjoyable observation and relaxation, all together with my woman.

I can say that I am a couragous man; I am usually willing to take reasonable risks in life. But I am also a kind, compassionate, generous, somewhat idealistic and loving person. People find it very easy to get to know me and most people get along with me quite well. I try very hard never to judge others; I do not believe I have a prejudiced or hateful bone in my body, and I suppose that helps. I am exceedingly trusting of other people, and this has actually caused me some painful difficulties in my past. I am actually learning to be a little more discriminating as to whom I trust, in an effort to become less susceptible to the covert plans and intentions of devious individuals. I will admit, this is not an easy adjustment for me, as it goes against my basic nature. I guess we will just have to wait and see how that goes. Hopefully, the right woman in my life will help me sort through such things and become a trusted advisor.

I am well educated, intelligent and articulate. I never stop learning and I prefer to have intelligent, educated and articulate people around me in my life; It is my serious intention to find such characteristics in a future wife. being a constant learner, I love good conversation, intense discussions, expressions of opinion and even friendly debate; by this I do not mean heated arguement.

I am passionate about encouraging my country and my fellow citizens to wake up and start discussing and dealing with the world's real and serious issues, such as global warming and war; at least, acknowledge these problems occasionally, admit they exsist and recognize their importance. It is usually the weight of public opinion that changes the world.

People I meet usually think I am much younger than I actually am. Often, they will tell me I appear younger, act younger and even sound younger. I am not certain that is true, nor whether it is even intended to be a compliment, but I'll take it that way, nonetheless. ) However, I know I did inherit some very good genes from my parents, especially from my Mother, who is nearly 88, looks more like 68, and is as physically active as a woman of 48. In any case, I definitely feel and think much younger than I actually am chronologically, and I usually much prefer the company of younger people than myself. It seems the older I get, the more I discover that most people over 40 tend to have very old-fashion, worn out ideas, and they usually hold on to outdated and ridgid beliefs about life, the world and politics. Furthermore, they have often retained many prejudices developed during their youth, usually based on simple ignorance. I am proud to say that I do not count myself among those individuals and, because of this, it can sometimes be very uncomfortable for me to converse with them in great depth or for any great length of time. I suppose this is at least part of the reason I am intent upon finding a younger woman with whom to share my life; that and, of course, given the simple fact that I am a man, I really don't care how young she is, as long as she is a woman. ;0)

I have a tremendous amount of respect for women, I suppose partly as a result of having two smart and beautiful daughters that mean so much to me, and of whom I am incredibly proud. In my opinion, women are the most precious creatures on earth and should always be treated as such, especially by men. Personally, I find myself to be extremely protective of women, in general; I become very angery when I read about domestic abuse! How any male thinks that hitting a woman defines him as a man baffles the hell out of me; in my opinion, physical, emotional or psychological abuse of a woman or child is the ultimate expression of male cowardace and inadequacy; in no way can such a person consider himself a man!

I love children and raising my two daughters and my son was the most wonderful experience of my whole life. It almost seems unfair that they grew up. But I believe I was a very good father and my grown children, now in their twenties, are probably my best evidence of that. They are the most important part of my life! I miss having them around me, and seeing happy little boys and girls still makes me smile with real joy. Of course, having watched my beautiful daughters grow from tiny little girls into young women, little girls can still effortlessly melt my heart. Even at this age, I would not hesitate to raise another child. I think parenting is one of the most difficult, but perhaps most important, job in the entire world; it absolutely has to be done correctly. Don't you agree?

I love life, but the right woman in my life, one with the qualities I am searching for, and sharing my life with her, will make me a much happier and more complete man. Perhaps she can be you. I thank you for reading my profile, and I will gladly answer any questions you may have.

I am looking for a woman with a strong personality who is intelligent (frankly, the smarter the better), educated, has her own opinions on most issues and is not afraid to express them, and although she clearly knows her own mind, she is not rude or unnecessarily argumentative with other people. (But spunky is always good.)

I do not mean to imply that I am an intellectual of some sort, nor that I am exceptionally intelligent, but I would want her to be willing and able to challenge me, intellectually, from time to time, in friendly discussions and exchanges of our personal opinions and beliefs; this would definitely make her a far more interesting woman, and interesting is also good.

My woman should be active and somewhat spontaneous by nature. I think I would like a woman who has a bit of intigue about her but possess a sense of humor; on the other hand, she must also be a truly honest person, trustworthy, sharing, warm, kindhearted, open-hearted, open-minded, loving by nature, and compassionate toward others; she must always treat others as she would wish to be treated, and she should be beautiful not just on the outside, but inside, as well. Let's face it, every man would love to have a beautiful woman at his side, however, we all know beauty is in the eye of the beholder and often determined by a person's inner personality and the other person's response to that; nevertheless, what greater combination of qualities could a man possibly wish for in his woman? Perhaps, I am not being reasonable in expecting to find all of these qualities in the same woman; frankly, my description sounds like Superwoman, or an angel, but I would certainly like to come as close as possible. After all, she will be the last woman I will be with in this lifetime.
